People's Court issues arrest warrants for two ENKS members

The People's Court of Northern Syria has issued arrest warrants against Fûad Elîko and Ibrehîm Biro for having a role in the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state and its jihadist mercenaries.

The People's Court of Northern Syria issued arrest warrants against ENKS members Fûad Elîko and Ibrehîm Biro.

The statement of the court's judgment reads as follows:

"In the seven-year war in Syria, the security of the peoples of the region has been ensured by defeating the gangs of the Islamic State, which posed a great threat to humanity. However, the Turkish state, which could not accept the defeat of the ISIS, has used the ISIS-recruited gangs in the occupation of Afrin.

Afrin was a symbol of peace and security, harboring hundreds of thousands of people from all parts of Syria and became a safe haven for innumerable internally displaced persons. Now Afrin is under Turkish occupation and was looted.

In addition to the heavy weapons used in the barbaric attacks on Afrin, the Turkish state also used dirty psychological warfare. To distort the reality of the region, Kurdish mercenaries have deployed. The jihadist groups that include these Kurdish mercenaries are: Siqûr El-Ekrad, Ketaib Selahedîn El-Eyûbî, Ketîbeya Azadî, and Ketîbeya Mişel Temo.

These gangs have played a role in the killing of the Kurdish population and the plundering of their habitats and are acting within the framework of the policies of the Kurdish National Council ENKS. Fûad Elîko, a member of the opposition coalition of the ENKS, had already stated that the said Kurdish groups had been involved in the attacks on Afrin. This fact is illustrated by the partnership of the ENKS and the Turkish state regarding the plundering campaigns in Afrin. Ibrehîm Biro, former chairman of the ENKS, had already issued threats against the autonomous administration of northern Syria in the past. These threats have been translated into action with the occupation and plundering of Kurdish cities.

The members of the ENKS, under the leadership of the Syrian Kurdish Unity Party, are hostile to the Rojava / Northern Syria revolution and commit treason against the achievements of the Kurdish people, to which the blood of countless Kurds is attached. The alliance with the Unity Party made clear that they participated in the attacks on Afrin. In the course of this, charges were brought against the members of the ENKS, Fûad Elîko and Ibrehîm Biro over opposition to the Kurdish people.

This lawsuit against the named persons has been filed in accordance with the laws and on the basis of complaints by representatives of the peoples of northern Syria and families of those killed. It was revealed that these members of the ENKS, together with members of the Opposition Coalition of Syria, opposed the peoples of Northern Syria and participated in the invasion of Northern Syria lands.

In this scope, our judicial authorities issued an arrest warrant against these persons. The security forces were ordered to detain Fûad Elîko and Ibrehîm Biro."
