Young people from various ethnic and religious backgrounds continue to join the SDF in greater numbers in Northern Syria. 144 new fighters who participated in the Deir ez-Zor Martyrs training term in the Martyr Faisal Abu Layla Military Academy in Kobanê have joined the SDF after completing the training.

The term ended with a military ceremony that opened with a minute’s silence for the martyrs of the freedom struggle, and the new fighters swore their oaths.

The ceremony closed with the Kurdish traditional dance halay by the fighters.
