Kobanê residents rush to Martyrs' Cemeteries

Kobanê residents lit candles by their martyrs' graves.

The people of Kobanê rushed to the Martyr Dicle and June 25 Massacre cemeteries for the anniversary of the June 25 Massacre and Ramadan holidays. Candles were little around the martyrs' graves and ceremonies were held.

Among the people visiting the cemeteries were Kobanê Canton Executive Council Co-chair Enwer Muslim, his deputies Berîvan Hesen and Xalid Berkel, Defense Council Chair İsmet Şêx Hesen, YPG Spokesperson Nûrî Mehmûd, Interior Affairs Council Chair Bozan Xelîl and QSD Commander Heqî Kobanê.

The memorial service in the Martyr Dicle Martyrs' Cemetery started with a minute of silence. Then YPG Spokesperson Nûrî Mehmûd gave a speech and said that the great Kobanê resistance led the way for the gains achieved today.

Martyrs' Families Council Administration Member Izet Hemo gave a speech at the ceremony held in June 25 Massacre Martyrs' Cemetery. Hemo expressed condolences for the families of people martyred in the massacre and said that the massacre aimed to break the Kobanê people's resistance. He added: "This massacre gave us more strength and drive to take revenge. And now our fighters fight against gangs in Raqqa."

After the ceremony, the group visited the monument erected in honor of the 6 martyred Asayish members. In the ceremony there, Xelîl İsmail gave a speech in the name of the Interior Affairs Council and saluted those who gave their lives for the safety of the people.
