Hospital in Rojava named after fallen Argentinian doctor Alina

The hospital of the city of Tal Tamir in Rojava has now been named after Lêgerîn Çiya.

The hospital of the city of Tal Tamir in Rojava has now been named after Lêgerîn Çiya. Alina Sánchez was an Argentinian doctor who joined the YPJ (Women Protection Units) and fell martyr on 17 March.

Alina Sánchez was born in 1986 in the Argentinian city of San Martín de Los Andes and graduated as a doctor in Cuba.

Since 2011 she was part of the struggle for the liberation of the Kurdish people of Syria.

On 17 March, the day of the car accident that tragically ended her life, she was going to Hasakah where she was to attend meetings with NGOs working on health.
