First Regiment of Self-Defense Forces established in Efrin

Self-Defense Forces have established their first military regiment with 236 fighters in Efrîn.

236 fighters have graduated from the “Martyr Mustefa Osman” training cycle at Martyr İzzet Academy in Efrîn. During the training cycle that lasted three months, the fighters received ideological and military lessons, establishing the first military regiment of Self-Defense Forces in Rojava’s Efrîn Canton.

Efrîn Executive Council Co-president Hevi Mustefa, Efrîn Foreign Affairs Council Co-president Sileman Cefer, Legislative Council Co-president Hevin Mustefa, Defense Council Co-president Behcet Ebdo, commanders for YPG/YPJ (People’s/Women’s Defense Units) and family of Martyr Mustefa Osman attended the ceremony.

Speaking here, Vice President of Defense Council, Dicle Husen congratulated on the establishment of the military regiment.

Referring to the Turkish army’s attacks and threats against Efrîn, Dicle Husen said; “Our forces are ready to retaliate the attacks and defend the region. The threats of the Turkish state and affiliated gangs cannot overwhelm our will and resistance.”

Following the speech, the fighters took their oath and officially joined the military regiment of Self-Defense Forces.
