Demo for freedom for Öcalan in Efrîn

Masses took to the streets to demand freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Efrîn, Rojava.

Kongreya Star continues its demonstrations in protest at the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Turkish state.

Hundreds in Sherawa district of Efrîn as well as members of Kongreya Star, PYD and civil society organisations gathered in Sherawa's Basile village and staged a march to condemn the isolation of the Kurdish leader yesterday. Protesters carried Öcalan's images and a huge banner reading “The Leader's Freedom is Women's Freedom, Women's Freedom is Society's Freedom”.

The march ended in Binihe village where Kongreya Star Sherawa district administrator Hatice Yusuf on behalf of demonstrators condemned the Kurdish leader's isolation, describing it as isolation of peoples.

PYD Women's Bureau administrator Emire Hasan also condemned the isolation and stressed that they will enhance the struggle for Öcalan's freedom.
