Commune in Fafin excavates new well to solve water issue

The flow of residents from Afrin fleeing their homes increased water problems, but together the people solve it.

The people of Afrin were forced by the Turkish army and its mercenary allies to leave their homes when they occupied the city.

Most people settled in the Shehba region. The Autonomous Administration there had cope with the refugees and displaced people despite the shortages of resources and infrastructures, which had already been destroyed by DAESH before the area was finally liberated by the YPG/YPJ.

The people of Afrin, who settled in the villages of Xirnata, Hasacik, Hasîn, Werdiyê, Hilîsê, Wehşiyê and Qiramil around the town of Fafin, are experiencing great difficulties due to lack of water.

In order to solve the water problem of the village of Xirnata, Fafîn Municipality dug a new well in the village with the support of the village commune, thus solving the water problem.

Xirnata village Commune executive, Mihemed Shêxo, stated that the people had great difficulties because of shortage of water but the new well has helped solving this issue.

Şêxo also added that works are underway to solve the other issues in order to provide the people with better living conditions.
