Afrin Liberation Conference meetings continue in Shehba region

Second stage of Afrin Resistance under way.

Delegates of the Afrin Liberation Conference are meeting people in different villages.

The latest meeting was with the people of the villages of Teneb and Keshtear in the canton of Shehba.

The meeting saw the participation of dozens of citizens in the village of Keshtear. Participants began with a minute’s silence to pay tribute to the martyrs and then delegates read the final document approved at the Afrin Liberation Conference. Wehid Hemido, deputy chair of the Der Jamal Village Council, read the document.

Afrin Canton Council co-chair, Mustefa Hesen, made an assessment on the latest situation in the region. "The invasion of Afrin carried out by the occupying Turkish state and its mercenary allies was actually approved by international states. The Turkish army used the most advanced techniques in occupation attacks, causing huge damage to the infrastructure of the region, and causing the loss of around 500 civilians, and forcing thousands to migrate to Shehba."

Hesen noted that despite the brutal assault, the people of Afrin resisted for 58 days. Now - said Hesen, "we have entered the second stage of the resistance".

The meeting ended with a questions and answers session.
