Afrin bids farewell to 23 martyrs

In Afrin a farewell ceremony took place for 23 people who died in the invasion attacks of the Turkish state.

At the ceremony, where the dead were led on their final journey, Asya Abdullah, co-chair of TEV-DEM (Movement for a Democratic Society), made a speech in which she said: "For ten days, the people of Afrin have been resisting the attacks of the Turkish army and support the SDF fighters at the front. The Turkish military uses all kinds of military means against the civilian population. Thanks to the SDF’s struggle, the Turkish army fails to invade Afrin."

Following the funeral, the SDF fighters were laid to rest in the Martyr Avesta Cemetery in the village of Kefer Shile and the bodies of civilians in Dêrcemal.

The fallen SDF fighters are:

Behcet Hemo (Dil Pak), Îbrahîm Elî (Alan), Ehmed Menan (Deştî), Zekeriya Qehwe (Zekeriya), Zelûx Hemo (Avesta Xabûr), Nêçîrvan Ebdo (Ciwan Berxwedan), Mihemed Mihemed (Bakur Rojava), Mihemed Elî (Herdem), Umer Reşo (Botan), Emîne Îsmaîl (Amara Efrîn), Ebdullah Habîl (Baz), Rojhat Efrîn, Rojhat Mûsa, Mihemed Hadî (Başûr Soran), Umer Bekir (Ciwan Efrîn) and Mehmûd Soko (Zardeşt).

Names of the civilians are:

Horiyê Geno, Fatme Ebdilreb, Henadî Geno, Hesen Geno, Hisên Elî, Rewan Eswed and Kemal Geno.
