The Turkish state is forcing the Yazidi people out of their villages in Afrin

Afrin Yazidi Union co-chair Mistefa Nebo said, "The Turkish state is forcing the Yazidi people out of their villages in Afrin."

After the Turkish state launched brutal attacks on Shengal, it is now trying to complete the projects that ISIS left unfinished. In Afrin and Serekaniye, it continues to impose assimilation and displacement policies towards the Yazidi people.

Evaluating the policies of the Turkish state, which is trying to change the demographic structure of the region as a whole, Mistefa Nebo, co-chair of the Afrin Yazidi Union, told ANHA that the Turkish state is trying to destroy all freedom ideas.

Stating that ISIS was established by the Turkish state and then Shengal was attacked, Nebo added the aim of these attacks were to destroy Kurds. Stating that the Turkish state is trying to destroy all freedom ideas, especially the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, Nebo noted that the attacks against South Kurdistan are also carried out for this purpose.

Nebo reminded that the Turkish state inflicted all kinds of atrocities to Yazidi villages during the invasion of Afrin, and added that the same ways and methods were used to destroy the remaining Yazidis.

Nebo added that mosques have been built in Yazidi villages and continued: “ISIS mercenary families are settled in the houses of the Yazidi who have been forced to leave their villages. Yazidis are forced to become Muslims. Those who do not accept this are executed by ISIS."
