People of Afrin: We will continue our resistance at all costs

The people of Afrin, who migrated to the Shehba region, mainly Tell Rifaat, due to the occupation and attacks of the Turkish state, said that they continue their resistance despite the blockade of the region and harsh winter conditions.

Civilians who migrated from Afrin due to the attacks of the invading Turkish state maintain their lives in Tell Rifaat and Shehba regions. The people of Afrin are having even more difficult days with the blockade of the region and the approaching winter season. Brahîm Rîhanî, the co-chair of the Afrin Assembly, who migrated to Tell Rifaat, spoke to ANF and conveyed the difficulties they experienced.

'WE WILL CONTINUE TO RESIST'

Recalling that they migrated to Shehba from Afrin due to the occupation of the Turkish state, Rîhanî said, “The attacks of the Turkish state still continue. The purpose of these attacks of the Turkish state is to force the people to migrate to another region and to revive the Ottoman empire. But we will continue our resistance.

We are already experiencing difficulties in the winter season. In this process, the corona epidemic already broke out, and it spreads even more in the winter months. The difficulties run rampant as the area is besieged. Our people are resisting despite these difficulties”.

"SIEGE OF THE REGION MAKES THINGS MORE DIFFICULT"

Firyal Ehmed, who migrated to Tell Rifaat, drew attention to the difficulties and said: “We had no problem while in Afrin. The Turkish state forced us out of our land, plundered our homes. Because of this occupation, we migrated to Shehba region. I and my 5 children are resisting now. We are facing more challenges than the beginning now. We are facing even more difficulties as the region is besieged.”

Firyal called on international states and human rights institutions not to remain silent and to find a solution to this persecution of the people. Firyal emphasized that they will continue their resistance at all costs.
