YPJ announces balance in the war in 2018

Hundreds of women joined the YPJ in 2018 as the battle against occupation forces and mercenaries continued.

YPJ General Command announced the balance of the war in Northern and Eastern Syria in 2018. The statement by YPJ said the following:

“As the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), we have fulfilled our mission to protect and defend all women and our people in 2018,” said the statement and continued:

“Our forces have resisted the Turkish state’s invasion attacks with great will, courage and faith in the Resistance of the Age in Afrin. This resistance by our fighters have shown our resolve in our faith in victory.

Our fighters have also participated actively in the Operation Cizire Storm and fought ISIS and other terrorist groups and invaders.

The balance of the war and resistance in 2018 is as follows:

There have been 900 clashes in 58 days in Afrin.

Invaders have carried out 1.042 air strikes.

2.422 Turkish soldiers and allied gang members were killed in the war.

There were 147 actions in the second part of the Resistance of the Age.

350 gang members and Turkish soldiers were killed in these actions.

YPJ fighters played a leading role in the Operation Cizire Storm.

4.214 ISIS members were killed in various phases of the operation.

Districts and hundreds of villages were liberated from ISIS during the operation.

Tens of thousands of civilians have been rescued from ISIS.

149 YPJ fighters were martyred in 2018.”
