Tribal leaders call on people to counter Turkey's threats

“The world public opinion should know that radical terrorist groups would threaten the security of the world again and DAESH terrorists would spread to Europe in the event that Turkey invaded northern and eastern Syria."

Tribal dignitaries in the Euphrates Region met in Raqqa under the slogan 'Let's end Terror, let's put an end to Turkey's occupation of Syria'.

After the meeting, a statement was made on behalf of the leaders of the tribes of the Euphrates region. The document was read by Xelef Esed, from the tribe of El Begara in Deir ez-Zor.

The statement said: "Local people are now aware that Turkey's current system poses a direct threat to all of the peoples. Because Turkey has been providing the most support to terrorist groups and opened its borders to terrorists who wanted to move to the region. It then more serious moves towards Syria and occupied Jarablus, Idlib, Bab, Azaz and finally Afrin. The people of Afrin resisted the occupation attacks for 58 days and the YPG / YPJ forces wrote heroic epics."

The tribe leaders, the statement added, "condemn the barbaric attacks carried out by Turkey that is supporting terrorist groups and this will create new dangers for the whole world."

The statement continued: “The world public opinion should know that radical terrorist groups would threaten the security of the world again and DAESH terrorists would spread to Europe in the event that Turkey invaded northern and eastern Syria.

That's why the international community should not be standing and watching but should take immediate action against Turkish state threats and do their part to ensure that Turkey withdraws from the areas it has occupied.”

The statement pointed out that the children of the region fought against DAESH and cleared the region of terror for the whole world. These young people were martyred in order to protect all the peoples of the world and therefore all are martyrs of humanity.

It is now time to fight against the dictatorial systems that want to create chaos among peoples and destroy their union and use terror for their own interests."

Finally, the tribal leaders called on “all the patriots of Syria to fight together against the attempts to rebuild the Ottoman Empire and to free all our occupied territories, starting with Afrin. The international community must fulfill its responsibilities and respond to the threats made by Turkey against the region. If Erdogan attacks North and East Syria, there will be a war in the region and no state will be able to avoid the consequences of this war. The only one that can benefit from this war is the terrorist groups."
