SDF Press Center announced that ISIS gangs carried out several attacks in the last two weeks, but the attacks have been pushed back in the Operation Cizire Storm. 79 gang members were killed in two weeks.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center announced the new balance for the final phase of the Operation Cizire Storm in progress in Deir ez-Zor.

The balance shows several ISIS attacks as they took advantage of the sand storms and bad weather in the last two weeks.

The announcement said all attacks have been pushed back, at least 79 gang members were killed and several vehicles have been destroyed. In the same period of time, 21 SDF fighters have lost their lives.

SDF’s detailed statement on the clashes are as follows:

“The terrorist organization has taken advantage of the sand storms in the region in the last two weeks and carried out attacks against SDF fighters from all sides. The terrorists have used various mid to heavy weapons in these attacks, as well as explosive laden vehicles and suicide bombers. Terrorists have taken over several locations in these attacks, which resulted in intense clashes in the Suse town. While terrorists entered some streets in the town, clashes ensued at full intensity and terrorists were prevented from taking control in the area.

Despite the intensity of the clashes, our forces have forced the terrorists to withdraw and have forced great losses on the terrorists.

In the Baghouz front, the terrorist organization has carried out attacks from 3 sides, and clashes starting in the morning have continued late into the afternoon. Terrorists have attempted 4 attacks with explosive laden vehicles and these vehicles have been destroyed before they reached their target as per precautions taken by our forces.”

36 terrorists were killed in these clashes and some of their bodies could not be retrieved from the clash zones,” added the SDF and gave the following information on the confiscated and destroyed vehicles:

“Our fighters have destroyed 2 DShK-laden vehicles and 2 Hummer type vehicles with RPGs. 43 terrorists were killed in the clash. 20 bodies were taken by our forces.”

The statement continued with the following details:

“In the afternoon, the terrorist organization’s members attempted to break the line of defense with an explosive laden vehicle. Our forces remotely detonated the vehicle.

Another group of terrorists attempted to surround our fighters but our forces have foiled this attempt in their careful actions, and terrorists were forced to flee the area after intense clashes and suffering several losses.”

The balance the SDF provided said 79 terrorists have been killed. The International Coalition has carried out 18 air strikes. 8 missiles have been fired into terrorists’ positions. 5 explosive laden vehicles, 2 Hummers, 3 DHSK mounted vehicles and 18 buildings housing terrorists were destroyed. SDF announced that 21 fighters were martyred in this same period.
