A school was opened in 2 tents in the Veger Camp in Afrin’s Sherawa district.

A school was opened in 2 tents in the Veger Camp, which was set up in Afrin’s Sherawa district 4 months ago.

One of the tents will be an elementary school, and the other will serve the middle school students. The school will have a total of 53 students.

Selam Seydo from the camp’s school administration said they started the second education term and they set up 2 tents due to their limited resources.

Seydo said the Education Committee appointed Kurdish, Arabic and English teachers and added that there are issues in providing the needs of especially first and second  graders.

A child named Elmez Eli said he is happy to have returned to school and to be receiving education in his mother tongue, adding that he hopes to go back to Afrin soon.
