Redcrow: Important to denounce Turkish support of ISIS

"I came to this conference because I'm going to be presenting on all the ways that the Turkish government and the regime of Tayyip Erdogan basically armed, assisted, and used ISIS as a proxy force against the Kurds."

Dr. Thoreau Redcrow is an American global conflict analyst, specialized in Kurdish studies, guerilla movements and stateless nations.

He was one of the guests at the International Conference on ISIS organised in Amude by the Rojava Strategic Research Center (NRLS).

"I came to this conference because I'm going to be presenting on all the ways that the Turkish government and the regime of Tayyip Erdogan basically armed, assisted, and used ISIS as a proxy force against the Kurds of Rojava, against the Kurds of southern Kurdistan, in Başûr, and against Syrians and Iraqis as well."

Redcrow added: "My presentation's going to look at all of the numerous evidence of what I would call the worst-kept secret in the world that for 5 years ISIS was basically a proxy army of Turkey. And most of the people in the world knew it, but, no one was acknowledging it."

As to the importance of the conference Thoreau said: "This kind of conference I think will basically leave no more doubt to the rest of the world, and hopefully what would come out of that is either an international tribunal, or Turkey would be brought to the ICC for war crimes, because you cannot allow a state to foster a movement such as ISIS, which rapes, enslaves and murders so many people, and not have any punishment on the people [involved in that state]."

ISIS has been destroyed as an entity, said Thoreau "but Turkey is merely reforming them in Idlib and in Afrin, calling them HTS, or some are al Nusra now, but it's basically all the same guys who have trimmed their beard a little bit, use a different flag, but their essentially the same ISIS proxy force that Turkey's been using all along. And so, hopefully after this conference there will be no doubt, once all the evidence has been given."
