A number of party members attended the meeting held in Dirbêsiyê Culture and Arts Center to mark the founding anniversary of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).

Speaking at the meeting, PYD Co-chair Ayşe Hiso assessed the latest developments in Syria. Remarking that PYD is working with all its might in order for Afrin’s liberation from the occupation of the Turkish state and allied mercenaries. She added: “Liberation of Afrin is our primary goal”.

Ayşe Hiso continued; “All the attacks and conspiracies carried out since the beginning of Rojava Revolution have targeted our people. Regional powers have wanted to realize their interests through the peoples of Syria.”

Referring to PYD’s role in the organization of the population, Hiso said: “Despite all the obstruction efforts it has faced, our party has managed to establish a relation with other peoples and the peoples of Northern Syria.”

After Hiso’s speech, the meeting ended with an evaluation of the party’s organizational state and works.
