Preparations for the final operation in Deir ez-Zor underway

The SDF is finishing the last preparations for the final operation to end ISIS mercenaries in Deir ez-Zor.

The Operation Cizire Storm Battle to End Terror launched to liberate the Deir ez-Zor countryside from ISIS mercenaries continues.

ISIS declared a “caliphate” by late 2013 and, with support from the Turkish state, invaded a total of 130 square kilometers of land in Iraq and Syria.

The SDF, made up of Syrian peoples, launched operations heeding the people’s call to achieve peace and stability in the region and rescue the people from ISIS tyranny.

The defeat of ISIS in Northern and Eastern Syria started with the liberation of Kobane by YPG and YPJ fighters. After SDF was founded on October 11, 2015, liberation operations were launched from Hawl to Manbij to Raqqa. Now, the Operation Cizire Storm continues in Deir ez-Zor.

The Operation Cizire Storm Battle to End Terror launched on September 11, 2018. Many areas have already been liberated. Now a small area in the Baghouz town along the Euphrates River remains under ISIS control.

A military source from the SDF said they are completing the preparations for the final operation to end the ISIS occupation in Deir ez-Zor.

The source said SDF fighters advance slowly because ISIS gangs use civilians as human shields in the occupied area.
