Kurds in Europe protest the US decision against PKK leaders

The US decision against PKK executives was protested in various European cities.

Kurds and their friends continue their protests against the US putting a bounty on three senior executives of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), Murat Karayılan, Duran Kalkan and Cemil Bayık.

As part of ongoing protests, demonstrations have been held in Vienna, Saarbrucken, Frankfurt, the Hague, Copenhagen and Borlange.

VIENNA

Kurds in Austrian capital Vienna have been demonstrating against the US for three days. Gathering in front of the US Consulate every day, protesters are condemning the US decision, carrying banners of three Kurdish leaders as well as images of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and PKK flags.

SAARBRUCKEN

A demonstration against the US decision was held in front of Europe Galerie. Demonstrators handed out leaflets condemning the US putting a bounty on Kurdish leaders.

Speaking here, Democratic Kurdish Society Center Co-president Dexil İbrahim said the US decision was not acceptable at all.

Dexil İbrahim said; “The Kurdish freedom movement has always acted basing on its own ideology and self force. Drawing its strength from the people, it will continue its struggle at any cost.”

FRANKFURT

Frankfurt Mesopotamia Kurdish Society Center organised a demonstration in front of the US Consulate on Friday and protested the US decision with a banner which read “We condemn the bounty put on Kurdish freedom fighters” and slogans “Murderer Turkish Republic, collaborator US”, “Terrorist Turkey”.

Demonstrators also condemned the Turkish state’s attacks against Rojava and the isolation of Öcalan, demanding freedom for the Kurdish leader.

Demonstrations will be staged in front of the US Consulate in Frankfurt three days a week.

COPENHAGEN

A group of demonstrators gathered in front of the US Consulate in Danish capital Copenhagen and protested the US decision against PKK leaders with posters of Öcalan and flags of PKK.

A press statement read on behalf of the Democratic Kurdish Society Center and Sevê Women’s Council highlighted the Kurdish freedom movement’s struggle against ISIS and condemned the US decision.

BORLANGE

In Borlänge city of Sweden, a march was organised under the lead of the Revolutionary Youth (Ciwanên Şoreşger). The young people protested the US decision and the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Turkish regime.

During the march from Borlänge city center to Kupolen, protesters chanted slogans condemning the US decision.

Speaking on behalf of the Revolutionary Youth, Fuat Pirsus said the Kurdish youth will tear down isolation.

THE HAGUE

In the Hague city of the Netherlands, Kurds gathered in front of the US Consulate in protest at the decision against Kurdish leaders, and chanted slogans in favor of PKK and Öcalan.

MELBOURNE

On the other hand, Kurdish rebellion leader Seyit Rıza and his companions were commemorated in Melbourne city of Australia at the 81st anniversary of their execution. Speeches about the Dersim genocide were made during the commemoration which was held at the Democratic Kurdish Society Center.
