Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen peoples celebrated Newroz in Aleppo

It was emphasized that Newroz 2019 will be the year of freedom for Öcalan and the liberation of Afrin.

Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen peoples celebrated Newroz 2019 together in Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) neighborhood of Aleppo.

YPG, political parties, Syrian Democratic Council, Martyrs’ Families Council and Aleppo Yazidi House sent messages to the celebration.

The messages paid tribute to the fighters and the hunger strikers’ resistance demanding the end of the isolation regime executed against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

It was emphasized that Newroz 2019 will be the year of freedom for Öcalan and the liberation of Afrin.

Following the reading of messages, TEV-DEM co-chair Xerîb Hiso saluted Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and all peoples and said Newroz is a symbol of democratic struggle. Hiso emphasized that the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria have put an end to DAESH terror and that they will now liberate Afrin.

Kongreya Star Aleppo executive Fatme Hesen stated that Newroz is the day of light after darkness. She saluted Öcalan and the hunger strikers and promised the people that Afrin will be liberated.
