“Erdogan’s threats against Manbij are a message to the US”

Politician Mihemed Hiwêdî said he is afraid the gangs the Turkish state supports will seek revenge against him because the acts together with the regime. Hiwêdî stressed that Erdogan’s threats against Manbij are a political message for the US.

Syrian politician Mihemed Hiwêdî spoke to ANHA about developments in the region starting with Idlib. Hiwêdî said the Turkish state has supported gang groups like ISIS since the beginning of the Syrian crisis with the goal of a fractured Syria.

Hiwêdî stressed that the Turkish state has submitted to Russia in order to prevent the democratical political project that could spread throughout the whole of Syria: “At this stage, Turkey wants to hand Idlib back to the Syrian regime to get rid of armed radical groups.”

“TURKISH STATE WILL SETTLE GANGS IN IDLIB IN AFRIN”

Hiwêdî pointed out the Idlib “demilitarized zone” agreement between Turkey and Russia and said: “The Turkish state wants to destroy the democratic project developed in Northern Syria. That is why they are planning to turn Idlib over to the regime and settle the gangs they have there in Afrin.”

“AFRAID OF THE GANGS’ REVENGE”

Hiwêdî said the Turkish state has abandoned the gang groups they backed since the beginning of the crisis several times to the regime: “These gang groups will want to take revenge from the Turkish state. That is Turkey’s biggest fear. That is why they want to act together with Iran, Russia and the Syrian regime to end these gang groups.”

“MANBIJ THREAT IS A POLITICAL MESSAGE FOR THE US”

Hiwêdî stressed that Turkey’s threats against Manbij are a message for the US: “Turkey expects the US to greenlight the invasion of Syria after they released the US citizen pastor they arrested. The Turkish state thinks they may get to easily invade the areas liberated with blood from martyrs because they released the pastor.”

Hiwêdi also stressed that the Turkish state can’t attack the liberated areas and the Afrin scenario won’t be repeated: “Now things have changed. The people of Afrin are ready to stand against invaders with their lives. A force that defeated the ISIS gangs will definitely defeat the Turkish state easily.”
