YPG Commander: We repelled the attacks, gangs have been hit hard

YPG Commander Brusk Hesekê said: “The attacks on Ayn Daqna have been voided. The Turkish state and the gangs have been hit hard.”

YPG Commander Brusk Hesekê spoke to the ANF and stated that the Turkish state has been hit hard in the Efrîn-Ayn Daqna attacks and that their invasion plans with the gangs have been foiled.

Hesekê said the following:

“The Turkish state and their allied gangs have been making plans on the Efrîn/Shehba region, and now they have experienced a break. The gangs attempting to infiltrate Ayn Daqna and Beloniye villages have suffered heavy losses. They have learned their lesson. They murdered civilians with heavy weapons for days, they tried mortars, Howitzers and every conceivable weapon. The Turkish state makes plans with the gang groups by targeting Kurds and riling peoples up in Azaz, Idlib, Jarablus and Northern Syria. The attacks on Ayn Daqna were not ordinary attacks. YPG forces noticed these attacks and retaliated as necessary. 30 gang members were killed and their bodies are in possession of our forces. One other gang member was taken prisoner.

“THE ATTACKS WERE COORDINATED IN AZAZ”

The Turkish state made many plans over Syria, and they want to sabotage the operation the Democratic Syrian Forces are carrying out in Raqqa.Ayn Daqna attacks had a purpose. The Turkish state wanted to cut off the Ayn Daqna and Minix lines with these gang groups, and they want to separate the Efrîn canton from the Shehba region, push invasion on the Shehba region again and take back the liberated villages. YPG forces have displayed a defending stance and retaliated against the attack plan the Turkish gang groups wanted to implement. The Turkish state has been wanting to expand their invasion control over the region for a long time, and the Ayn Daqna attacks were coordinated by Turkish commanders in Azaz.”

“DON’T FALL FOR THE TURKISH STATE’S TRICKS”

YPG Commander pointed out that the Turkish state wants to develop a dictatorial and colonialist system in Syria and continued:

“They are setting up gang groups in Idlib, Azaz and Bab to make the peoples of Syria victim to their interests and plans of invasion. The Turkish army is using their own means in Azaz and making these gangs attack everywhere for money. This was the case in Ayn Daqna. The armored vehicles the YPG forces damaged and the weapons the gang groups used belong to the Turkish state. We are always making the call for the peoples of Northern Syria not to fall for the Turkish state’s tricks. They are also putting people up against each other in Azaz, riling people up against the YPG forces and enforcing a Turkification policy. The peoples who live in Efrîn, Shehba and Azaz are the owners of these lands. The Turkish people can’t push people out of the Efrîn/Shehba region as they wish. We will never allow their tricks of invasion. We as the YPG forces will resist any and all attacks. Our people have proven in these last days that they will stand with the YPG forces and stand against all attempts at invasions.”

“THERE WERE TURKISH SOLDIERS DIRECTLY PARTICIPATING IN THE ATTACK”

YPG Commander Brusk Hesekê said the Turkish state suffered great losses in this attack plan and continued:

“There were Turkish soldiers coordinating attack groups and participating directly in the attacks. We are in possession of 9 bodies of gang members obtained in these clashes. We as the YPG forces handed these bodies over to Heyva Sor, as a humane duty. It was the Turkish state and their allied gang groups who carried out this extensive attack on our YPG forces. They were the ones who suffered the losses. We are defending our people and the region. We issued a call as a humane and ethical duty. We will hand these bodies to their families. Russia or any other force don’t have an opinion on the handing over of these bodies. We made this decision out of the YPG’s sincerity and commitment to human values. The peoples have been neighbours for a thousand years in Azaz, Shehba and Efrîn. There are ties among the peoples.”
