YPG: 45 ISIS members killed in Shaddadi

YPG Press Office announced that 45 ISIS members were killed in Shaddadi, and the Turkish army and allied gangs continue to attack the lands of Rojava.

YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Office released a statement on continued attacks by the Turkish army and allied gangs in the past two days, and the heavy fighting in Shaddadi.

The statement reported that Turkish forces shelled the Xelik and Chaqala villages of Efrîn with howitzer and mortar fire at 15:30 on March 26, and attacked the village of Maranez with howitzers at the night of the same day.

According to the statement, gang groups affiliated with the Turkish arm shelled Efrîn's Belune village with tank and howitzer fire at 15:30 on March 27, and the attack continued until the evening.

Gang groups also shelled the Maranez, Vila, Qadi and Malikiye villages of Efrîn's Shiye district at the night of the same day.

YPG forces retaliated against the attacks of the Turkish army and gang groups in kind, as result of which one tank belonging to the gangs was rendered inoperative.

YPG continued, giving details regarding the intensified attacks on Shaddadi region. Accordingly, ISIS gangs launched a major attack on Shaddadi's Azawi village with heavy weapons and tanks at 05:00 on March 27. Clashes erupted in the area as YPG forces immediately responded to the attack. As the fighting continued ceaselessly until 11:00 am, the attacks were repelled and the gangs were inflicted a heavy blow.

1 tank, 2 DShK rifles, 3 car-bombs, and 1 military vehicle were rendered inoperative and corpses of 45 ISIS members were seized at the scene of clashes, in addition to 35 clips, 3000 bullets, 25 Kalashnikovs, 1500 Kalashnikov bullets, 3 BKC machine guns, 7 cannons, 2 B7 RPGs, 3 drones, 15 hand grenades, and 4 suicide vests.

Two YPG fighters fell as martyrs whilst putting up a brave fight during the repulsion of the attacks.
