Young people against the 9 October Conspiracy in Kobanê

Hundreds of young people protested against the international conspiracy which, 20 years ago, led to the capture of Abdullah Öcalan.

Hundreds of young people from the Euphrates region met in Kobanê answering the call of the Rojava Youth Association (YCR) and the Young Women's Union (YJC) and rallied to condemn the 9 October 1998 international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The rally was dotted with photos of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan as well as YCR and YJC flags.

The march started at Peace Square and ended with a meeting at the Free Woman Square.

Speaking after the minute silence to pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs, President of the Rojava Youth Association, Agiri Ararat, said: “We condemn the conspiracy against Öcalan and say that we will never accept this conspiracy and we will continue to fight until we reached the freedom of Öcalan”.

Young people will condemn the 9 October conspiracy with demos and actions to last until the end of October.
