VAN

As the people of Van have rushed to polls as of early morning hours to vote for the referendum, the AKP government's election fraud and violations have also began. Tensions rose in Van's Gürpınar and Edremit districts as AKP members tried to force the people to vote 'YES'.

Tensions rose at the Ballot No. 1067 in Ertuğrul Gazi Primary school in the central Edremit district when police officers tried to force people to vote 'YES'.

In Hoşap neighborhood of Gürpınar district, gendarme officers entered the school where people cast their votes and forced polling clerks to go out. Tensions deescalated after a while when the gendarme left the school.

In the meantime, it emerged that 57 voting papers were missing at the Yunus Emre Primary School in Yeni neighborhood.

HDP Van parliamentarians Lezgin Botan and Bedia Özgökçe, DBP Provincial Co-chair Ahmet Aygün, HDP Van Provincial Co-chairs Yakup Ataş and Gülistan Orhan have cast their votes.

ISTANBUL

'YES' banners hung at schools despite the election law prohibiting such acts on the day of voting received reaction and criticism from voters in Turkish metropolis Istanbul today.

A huge 'YES' banner remains hung on the wall of Mehmet Niyazi Altuğ Anatolian High School in Güneşli, Bağcılar district of Istanbul.

A car with a 'Yes to even die for you' writing on rear window remains parked in the garden of the Tantavi Atatürk Secondary School in Ümraniye district.

Turkish officials that continue an extraordinary pressure against Naysayers remain silent on election violations by the 'YES' campaigners.

HAKKARİ

People rushed to polling stations in Cumhuriyet, Güngör and Kuruköy (Maxsudava) neighborhoods in Hakkari's Yüksekova district, where neighborhoods were left in ruins during the 79 day-long curfew. Voters reconstructing their lives amongst the ruins are going to the neighborhoods that ballot boxes have been moved to.

Locals and university students that moved to nearby villages, districts and cities because of the destruction of their houses gave messages of 'NO' against dictatorship.
