Yekgirtu Party boycotted Hewler parliament meeting

Boycott prompted by the absence of Turkish aggression on South Kurdistan and salary reform on the agenda

The ordinary session of parliament in Hewlêr has begun. On the agenda were neither the stance towards the Turkish state occupation attacks in South Kurdistan nor the lack of answers to the crisis on the salaries of civil servants.

The absence of these two issues prompted the Yekgirtu party to boycott the session.
Yekgirtu Group President Abu Bakr Heledini explained to press members the reason for the boycott.

"The parliamentary presidency - he said - brought to the agenda issues which are not of immediate interest for people. Crude oil is 77 dollars for 200 liters. They allowed foreign troops into South Kurdistan and don't want to talk about this."

Heledini continued: "At this session there is no mention of any agenda material that is important to our citizens."

Noting that the current parliament's mandate has actually ended 55 days ago and no meetings were held during this time, Heledini said: "Parliamentary presidency has decided that a reform of the salary will take place in the first session to be held. However, although the first session took place today, the session did not include this issue in the agenda. That's why we're boycotting this meeting. "

Vice President of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, Cihfer Immini argued that they did not ignore the reform law.

"Law and economic commissions have proposed some projects. - he said - The government will also give its opinion, thoughts and recommendations on these projects. We must wait to see what they say. Then we will start work."
