Van: Our resistance is righteous and legitimate

"We will keep our struggle going until the trustee is sent to Ankara and the people get back their will. Those who seek democracy, justice and social peace for Turkey will succeed."

The vigil held in front of the HDP İpekyolu District Offices in Van city center continued on its 28th day again under police siege, participated by HDP deputies, politicians and people.

Speaking at the daily press statement, HDP Şırnak MP Hasan Özgüneş said that the AKP government and its coalition partner could not rule the country anymore.

Özgüneş pointed out that only peace and freedoms could save Turkey, and described the appointment of trustees a “coup”.

Özgüneş continued: “We take this coup as aimed at the peoples of Turkey, democracy and laws. Our desire is not to have the control of a few municipalities, but to help the rule of law, peace and democracy be achieved in the country. What has been done here today could well be done in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir or anywhere else tomorrow. Our resistance is righteous and legitimate. We will keep our struggle going until the trustee is sent to Ankara and the people get back their will. Those who seek democracy, justice and social peace for Turkey will succeed. We are warriors of this cause.”
