Turkish soldier: We were hit after advancing 200 m in three days

A Turkish soldier made confessions about Turkey’s invasion operation against Afrin, refuting Turkish official media reports that the army has made a remarkable progress in the so-called “Operation Olive Branch”.

Turkish Tanker Specialist Sergeant Alper Akpunar is one of the soldiers participating in Turkey’s operation against Afrin. He turned back home in Erzincan after suffering an injury during the operation and receiving treatment in the Hatay province bordering Syria. He answered journalists’ questions at his home.

According to a report by news website Sendikaorg, the Turkish soldier stated that they were able to advance only 200 meters from the border after three days of artillery bombardment against Afrin. He said they were hit at the point they managed to reach after three days.
