Three resistance actions in Strasbourg

Strasbourg is also witnessing a solidarity hunger strike and the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil as well as the indefinite hunger strike carried out by the 14 activists.

The hunger strike resistance in Strasbourg has reached day 95 demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's leader, Abdullah Öcalan.

The 14 Kurdish activists on hunger strike reiterated their message of determination to continue their fast until isolation is lifted. The hunger strikers received dozens of visitors every day. 

Among the visitors was a group of Kurdish media workers living in Europe.

The press workers held a brief visit in the rooms where activists are and talked to other visitors.

 

Solidarity hunger strike and Freedom for Öcalan Vigil continue

Strasbourg is also witnessing a solidarity hunger strike and the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil as well as the indefinite hunger strike carried out by the 14 activists.

Since 25 June 2012, Kurds are holding a Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in front of the Council of Europe and the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). This is the 352nd week of Vigil.

According to information from action organizing committee member, Zülfü Bingöl, this week the Vigil is carried out by a new group of Kurdish patriots coming from around Strasbourg.

Likewise, the solidarity hunger strike promoted to support the indefinite hunger strike, has reached week 4 and is being carried out this week by 9 members of the European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E).
