Three prisoners on hunger strike hospitalized in İzmir

Three prisoners on hunger strike against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan since March 1, have been taken to hospital.

Political prisoners Miro Çalgı, Ramazan Işıklı and Yiğit Üste, jailed in the Menemen T Type Prison in the western province of İzmir, joined on March 1st the massive hunger strike action initiated in prisons following DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Güven.

The Kurdish politician went on an indefinite hunger strike in Amed (Diyarbakır) Prison on November 7, 2018 demanding the end of the isolation regime executed against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı Island Prison. Her action was later joined by 7 thousand political prisoners.

Prisoners Miro Çalgı, Ramazan Işıklı and Yiğit Üste have been reportedly taken to hospital. Reports about their health conditions were not immediately available.
