Temelli: Local elections an opportunity to side with democracy

“The plans of the ruling forces have brought cruelty to this country, they brought violence, and they brought war to Syria. Because this power fed itself of hostility for Kurds. This power is fed of discrimination."

HDP co-chair Sezai Temelli met the people in Yüreğir and Seyhan districts of Adana province. He was accompanied by party deputies Meral Danış Beştaş and Kemal Peköz.

Temelli said: “We will pull through this difficult process. For 40 years, no matter what difficulty we faced, we did not bend nor fall apart. We must save this country from evil.”

Temelli commended HDP Hakkari deputy Leyla Güven who is on hunger strike against the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Speaking about Öcalan’s role in helping peace, Temelli said that he could bring hope to the country with his views on common life and democratic nation.

Temelli added: “The plans of the ruling forces have brought cruelty to this country, they brought violence, and they brought war to Syria. Because this power fed itself of hostility for Kurds. This power is fed of discrimination. The language of this power is the hate language”.

The HDP co-chair insisted: “Ending isolation would actually mean ending a great injustice.”

Speaking about the local elections, Temelli said: “Local elections are a critical time in which we can put an end to this bad situation. We could tell people to side with democracy, with freedom.”
