Tabqa town and Euphrates Dam fully liberated by SDF

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have fully liberated the Tabqa town and Euphrates Dam.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have fully liberated the Tabqa town and Euphrates Dam on the 50th day of the operation to liberate the Tabqa region from ISIS occupation.

SDF Commander Rojda Felat announced the the town and the dam have been entirely cleansed of ISIS gangs. SDF fighters have started mop-up operations in the region.

The Tabqa offensive was launched with air-drops for the liberation of the Tabqa town and the Euphrates Dam on March 21. After taking the Tabqa Military Airport under control, SDF fighters moved on towards the town center and entered it in mid April.

Meanwhile, Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room announced the relaunch of the fourth phase of the campaign today after a 15-day suspension.

The Operation Wrath of Euphrates was launched in November 2016. The fourth phase of the operation was launched on April 13, since when tens of thousands of civilians have been rescued from ISIS occupation. The final phase of the military campaign is aimed for the liberation of the Raqqa city.
