Sydney against isolation imposed on Öcalan

A large crowd of Kurds and Australians met in Sydney to demand freedom for Öcalan.

Kurds and their friends gathered in front of the Customs House in Sydney, responding to the call of the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in the Australian capitalit to demand freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Öcalan.

The speeches delivered during the action all underlined how the international conspiracy against Öcalan had failed, as Kurds gathered around their Leader.

Speakers said that some local and international powers have imposed the isolation on Öcalan in the attempt to step up the conspiracy and underlinedthe role of the European Court of Human Rights and the CPT.

Kurds condemned the attitude of both institutions.

Kurds also called on the Australian government to take a stance and insisted that isolation is a crime against humanity and that the government should not remain silent.

A large number of leaflets were handed out during the action.
