Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Guven’s indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan is on day 65. Guven’s health continues to deteriorate further every day, as international messages of support continue to pour in.

“AT URGENT POINT”

Switzerland National Parliament Socialist Party MP Carlo Sommaruga sent a message of support for Guven’s hunger strike. Sommaruga said he stands with Guven and pointed out that Guven’s hunger strike has reached an urgent point. 

“EUROPEAN AND SWISS POLITICIANS SHOULD TAKE ACTION”

“MP Leyla Guven has been on a hunger strike for 65 days under harsh conditions demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon the Kurdish society’s historic leader Ocalan,” said Sommaruga and called on politicians: “All European and Swiss politicians should take action so Leyla Guven is free and the isolation against Ocalan is ended.”
