Swis activists: Stop the barbaric Turkish army

A group of Swiss activists came together under the banner of “Save Afrin” in the Swiss city of Lausanne and called upon the public opinion to stop the barbaric Turkish army’s attack on Afrin.

In Vaud canton, several university students, politicians, and academics formed a solidarity group with Afrin. The group released a statement and urged all to take action to stop Turkish army’s attack on Afrin.

“After nearly two months of fighting, the town of Afrin is now almost completely encircled. The barbarism of the Turkish army and its Islamist auxiliaries broke out into the open: indiscriminate bombings in residential areas, looting, summary executions, mutilations of female combatants, multiple acts of violence against civilians, destruction of historical sites, bombardment of civilian convoys” the statement read.

The group said that they fear of a bloodbath when Turkish army and its gangs enter Afrin and added: “The Turkish government has already proven in the past that it did not hesitate to raze entire cities, slaughtering hundreds of civilians”.

The group urged the international community to support the people of Afrin and make donations to the Kurdistan Red Crescent.
