‘Stuttgart Life against Isolation Platform’ established

A meeting was held in Stuttgart bringing together 16 organisations after the establishment in Dortmund of the Life against Isolation Platform.

The 16 organizations issued a joint statement on behalf of the newly established ‘Stuttgart Life against Isolation Platform’.

Platform ready to get more members

The statement said: “We announce the establishment in Stuttgart of the ‘Life against Isolation Platform’ joined by 16 local-immigrant institutions and an artist.

Composing the Platform are the following associations: ADHK, AGİF, ATİK, HDK Stuttgart, Initative Kurdistan Soliderität, MBP, Nav-Dem, Partizan, SKB, Stuttgart Partizan, SYKP, TJK, YDG, New Women, Zusammen Kämpfen (Together Fight) Stuttgart.

The foundation meeting also established the following committees: Platform Coordination, Press Commission, Stuttgart Life against Isolation Platform Tent Committee, Technical Commission and Diplomacy Commission.

Solidarity tent to be organised

The statement continued: “Our Platform, which will be meeting on a weekly basis, planned the participation to the march and rally to be held in Cologne on 2 March. In addition on 11-12 and 13 March, we have decided to set up a solidarity tent in the city center called ‘Life against Isolation Platform Tent’.”

The statement also commended the hunger strike by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and hundreds of other activists to demand the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan. “The Stuttgart Platform is claiming this hunger strike and will do everything in its power to spread the struggle and increase solidarity.”

The statement ended with the following remarks: “We call on everyone saying I am human, progressive, revolutionary, socialist, Kurd, Alevi, I support human rights, I advocate life, to claim the hunger strike and do everything in their power to prevent deaths.
