The demonstrations in Colombia to defend public universities have reached the region of Cauca. Thousands of students took to the streets to say no to the privatization of education.

The FARC (the party born from the former guerrillas of the same name) also called on its members (many of whom are in the process of reincorporation and also aim at going to university) to participate to the various demonstrations throughout the countries, underlining that “education can not be considered a business or service, but as a right of all people. We believe that education should be a pillar in the New Colombia we want to build”.
