SETA targets Swiss politicians

Acting like a spy network for the AKP regime, SETA targeted several Swiss politicians including UN Human Rights Council Advisory Board Member Jean Ziegler.

The Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) issued a report titled “PKK’s Organization in Europe” and targeted several Swiss politicians including UN Human Rights Council Advisory Board Member Jean Ziegler.

The report directly targeted Kurdish organizations in Europe and their employees. The Switzerland chapter, written by SETA European Research Director Enes Bayrakli, profiles and targets several Swiss politicians who want a democratic solution and peace in the Kurdish issue.

UN EMPLOYEES TARGETED

Among the targeted politicians, Jean Ziegler stands out. Ziegler was a close friend to the Latin American revolutionary leader Ernesto Che Guevara and is currently a member of the UN Human Rights Council Advisory Board.

SETA targeted Ziegler for his comments in a 2017 interview with the ANF where he said, “If Che was alive today he would have fought alongside the PKK. The PKK is a legitimate and legal freedom movement.”

ALL POLITICIANS WHO SPOKE TO THE ANF TARGETED

The report claims that Kurdish institutions that work legally in Switzerland are illicit structures and profiles many Swiss politicians including MPs who are conscious of the Kurdish issue.

The report also considers Swiss politicians expressing anti-ISIS views to be criminal, and argued that any and all criticisms against Turkey regarding human rights violations is “hostility against Turkey”.

Some Swiss politicians targeted in the report are:

Former Geneva Mayor Remi Pagani

Socialist Party (SP) Basel Canton MPs Mustafa Atici and Edibe Golgeli

Amnesty International’s Switzerland chapter Turkey Desk Official Maya Heuschmann

SP National Parliament MPs Hans Steffen, Marget Kiener Nellen and Claudia Friedl

SP Basel Canton Leader Brigitte Hollinger
