SDF fighters liberate the village of Baghous by the Euphrates

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated the village of Baghous on the shore of the Euphrates River.

SDF fighters advancing in rural Deir ez-Zor in the Operation Jazeera Storm have encircled all the ISIS-occupied areas east of the Euphrates.

The fighters have liberated the village of Baghous on the shore of the Euphrates River Sunday afternoon. In addition to its strategic importance, the village is located on the highway linking to Hajin town, the last settlement held by ISIS at Syrian-Iraqi border.

The final phase of the Operation Jazeera Storm was launched by SDF on May 1st to liberate the remaining areas under ISIS occupation at Syrian-Iraqi border. SDF forces are advancing in coordination with the Iraqi army with the support of the international coalition.
