Rojava Aid Organization provides food for Raqqan migrants

Rojava Aid Organization distributed aid packages to migrants who came from Raqqa in a joint effort with Al-Mewede Association.

After the town of al-Karama was liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) within the Wrath of Euphrates operation last month, hundreds of Raqqan families headed there. The Cizre Canton Social Works Council set up a migrant camp in the town within their means.

The Rojava Aid Organization and Al-Mewede Association distributed 3500 food packages to the migrants staying in the camp in al-Karama town in a joint effort.

Al-Mewede Association member Eli Silo said that thousands of Raqqans arrived after al-Karama town was liberated and added: “As the Al-Mewede Association, we are fulfilling our humanitarian duty. We will continue to aid the migrants who fled the tyranny of ISIS gangs.”

Silo said they worked in coordination with the Rojava Aid Organization and distributed 3500 food aid packages and added that they will fulfill the needs of the migrants to the extent that their means allow.

Rojava Aid Organization Co-chair Nejbir Fetah called on human rights organizations to aid the Raqqan migrants.

Al-Karama Camp opened in March and hundreds of Raqqan migrant families live there still.
