Protests against Erdogan at churches in Italy

Protests are spreading against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the invasion operation against Afrin Canton of Northern Syria.

A group calling themselves People’s Initiative protested against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Vatican during a religious ceremony at San Tomasso Church in Torino city of Italy.

Holding olive branches, the group stressed that the Turkish state’s invasion attempt against Afrin targeted the peoples and faith groups.

Remarking that Ezidis, Turkmens, Arabs and Christians live together in peace in Afrin, speakers criticised the western states for being a mere spectator to Turkey’s invasion attempt.

“Erdogan bloody handed, Defend Afrin” read a banner unfurled during the demonstration which was also covered by Italian press.

On the other hand, Ya Basta (Edi Bese) organization and social centers also protested Erdogan at San Marco Basilica in Venice today. Speakers protested Vatican for welcoming Erdogan.
