Protest against Turkey in Stockholm

"Kurds fought not only for themselves but for all humanity. There is a choice between democracy and fascism."

Kurds and their friends living in Stockholm held an action to protest the Turkish state's preparations for the invasion of Rojava and North and East Syria.

The action took place at the Central railway station at around 22 pm on Monday.

Activists informed passengers about the threats issued by Turkey to invade Rojava.

Left Party MP Daniel Riazat, who participated in the action, said that a dirty agreement had been made between the Turkish state and the United States, at the expenses of Rojava. "It is very clear that the Left Party, as in the past, is still with the Kurdish people today."

Stating that the outside world should not abandong the YPG / YPJ forces, which defeated ISIS in Kobanê, Raqqa and Northern and Eastern Syria, Riazat said: "Kurds fought not only for themselves but for all humanity. There is a choice between democracy and fascism. Erdogan and Trump are spokespersons for fascist politics. SDG and Kurds represent democracy and freedom."

72-year-old theater Artist Serpil Inanç who also participated in the action said that no one had the right to remain at home when the fascist Turkish state was preparing to attack Rojava.

Stating that Rojava is the only example of self-rule and co-existence of different peoples, Inanç said: "Eleven thousand people, including internationalists, lost their lives in the struggle to defend the Kurdish lands from ISIS. The Kurdish people and their friends should not allow the imperialists and the Turkish state to eradicate the egalitarian system."

Yasar Kucukaslan, the representative of the Mesopotamian Freedom Party, said that everyone should act to prevent the repetition of the 1915 Armenian genocide, the Assyrian-Syriac genocide and the genocide of Kurds and other minority peoples.
