Prosecutor thinks 8-year prison sentence insufficient for Kaya

The Prosecutor thinks the 8-year prison sentence Bekir Kaya has been issued is insufficient.

The imprisoned Co-mayor of the usurped Van Metropolitan Municipality Bekir Kaya was issued a 8 year 3 month prison sentence. The court acquitted Kaya for another case where he was on trial for a march he attended. The prosecutor objected and appealed to the Erzurum Regional Court of Justice.

The prosecutor alleged that the court’s decision to acquit Kaya in the case regarding a march he attended was wrong and that the march also requires punishment.

KAYA: I HAVE ZERO EXPECTATIONS

In court, Kaya had said: “I can suffer individually, my wife, my children can suffer. These are individual sufferings. I know my suffering will eventually turn into a great social gain. I have zero expectations from the court. Whether I do or don’t receive a sentence. That is why I don’t care how you decide, one way or the other. I wholeheartedly believe that the decisions you make here today will go down history as our gains.
