Prisoners in Urfa: We will fast until our demand is met

The prisoners stated that they would continue their actions with determination until the isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is lifted.

The 7 prisoners, who started an indefinite hunger strike in Urfa No. 2 T-type Prison on 5 January, sent a letter through their families.

The prisoners stated that they would continue their action with determination until the isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is lifted.

The prisoners said in the letter: “In this geography where the fate of the peoples is written with blood, it is an indisputable fact that resistance is a noble feature. In such a period, we have supported the indefinite hunger strike launched by Ms. Leyla Güven whose demand is legitimate and moral. Her demand is our demand. We will continue our action until our demand is met and isolation lifted. Because it is always those resisting that have the final say at the most beautiful time of history.”
