Police terrorism against HDP in Bingol: 9 detained

The police raided HDP offices in Bingol and detained 9 people in house raids.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Bingol chapter subjected to police terrorism this morning.

HDP Bingol’s Accountant Yasar Yurtsever was called to the party offices as the police conducted a search in the building and confiscated many documents.

9 DETAINED

The police also raided several homes in the city center and Solhan district. 9 HDP Youth Assembly members were detained in these raids, 4 of them from the Solhan district. Youth Assembly member Firat Bulut was detained from his home, while Mehmet Nuri Mert was detained from his job. HDP Central District Co-chair Zeynel Barlas’s home was also raided but he was not detained because he wasn’t home at the time. Raids continue in the province and reports say the number of detentions could increase.

Detainees have been taken to the Bingol Police Directorate.

HDP Bingol Co-chair Veysel Kaya said: “Democracy and our multiple voices disturbs the Palace. AKP is melting away, so they want to take revenge against HDP’s success in the March 31 elections.”
