PKK anniversary celebrated in Lucerne

The 41st anniversary of the PKK was celebrated in Lucerne, Switzerland, with the participation of thousands.

The 41st anniversary of the PKK was celebrated in Lucerne, Switzerland, with the participation of thousands.

The Lucerne sports hall where the event was organized was decorated with the flags of the PKK, KCK, YPG, YPJ, as well as photos of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, the leading cadres of the PKK and the fighters who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom.

Thousands of Kurds and their friends came from all the cities of Switzerland to join the celebration.

Speakers at the event condemned the Turkish state occupation attacks against North East Syria and emphasized the importance of solidarity with Rojava and the Honor Resistance. Speakers also underlined the importance of national unity to defeat the attacks.

The event started with a minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom.

The event was attended by Kongre-Gel co-chair Remzi Kartal.

Kurdish artists Xelil Xemgin, Nuarin, Arya Şahin, Rodi and Med Culture Center Children's Choir performed during the event.

Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-chairs Songül Aslan and Mehmet Ali Simsek, reminded of the 41 years of the PKK.
