PACE members in support of Leyla Güven on day 76 of hunger strike

European deputies expressed support for HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, on hunger strike for 76 days.  

On the occasion of the sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), about 20 parliamentarians, members of the European Left Union Group (GUE-UEL) gathered at the European Council building, in a solidarity action with Leyla Güven.

Parliamentarians underlined that the HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven’s health status is worsening and reiterated her demand to end the isolation and asked her release.

Many MPs, including members of the German Left Party (Die Linke) and the Dutch Tim Kox, as well as HDP deputies, joined the action.

The deputies carried photos of Leyla Güven in their hands and cards asking the release of the HDP deputy and demanding the end of isolation.
