Of the 11 people who were detained for calling for peace against Turkey’s Afrin operation on social media, nine have been jailed and two have been released on condition of judicial control.
11 people were taken into custody in Antep between January 22nd and 25th on the grounds that they called for peace on social media against Turkey’s Afrin operation. Nine of the detainees were jailed and two others were released on condition of judicial control.
Those remanded in custody include HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Antep provincial co-chair Atiye Okay and HDP Party Assembly member Mehmet Karayılan.
