People’s Council opened in Kesra

The new People’s Council will work to meet the needs of people.

A new People’s Council was opened in the town of Kesra, to provide services to the people western of Deir ez-Zor.

The new People’s Council is part of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council works north and south of the city.

Members of the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), Deir ez-Zor Civic Council co-chair, Leyla Hesen, representatives of the regional assemblies and dozens of citizens joined the ceremony for the opening of the new council.

MSD member Abraham al-Cuma delivered his speech after a minute’s silence in memory of the martyrs. Al-Cuma remembered the people who lost their life in the Suwayda massacre.

“ISIS - said al-Cuma - carried out a new brutal attack against innocent people. We are all Syrian peoples. The Suwayda massacre is yet another massacre against Syrian people."

Wefai Celal Berekat, executive of the Martyrs' Families Association, said that the opening of the Council is saluted by martyrs' families and citizens and added that after the liberation from ISIS mercenaries, the opening of the People’s Council is a big step for the future.

Hesen al-Hisên, member of the Mehmida District Council, and Ayşe al-Hesen, member of the Kibi Village Council, underlined that the new council would work to meet the needs and demands of the people.

At the end of the ceremony, the ribbon was cut by Eta al-Zehir, wife of Martyr Muhend Elewî.

Muhend Elewî fell a martyr during the Operation Cizire Storm against ISIS mercenaries.
