New Democratic Kurdish Community Center opened in Malmö

A new Democratic Kurdish Community Centers  has opened in Sweden. The opening in Skåne, Malmö, has been attended by many Kurdish and Swedish people. 

After the minute silence in memory of the martyrs of Kurdistan and the Revolution, Ferman Siverek, co-chair of the Skåne Democratic Kurdish Community Center, addressed the audience. 

He pointed out the important political developments ongoing on in Turkey and Kurdistan.

Sweden Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-chair, Ridvan Altun, commended the hunger strike resistance against isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan and said that this action has increased the international solidarity with the Kurdish people which is why, he added, a new Center has been opened.

Altun underlined that the Turkish state intensified its attacks against Northern Kurdistan before the local elections to be held in Istanbul in order to give breath to the nationalist and chauvinist feelings of the people.

The executives of the organizations “Rojava Committee”  “Everything for Everybody” brought their solidarity message. 

Speaking on behalf of “Everything for Everybody”, Linus Ericsson said that the opening of a Kurdish association in Malmö would contribute to the struggle in the local area for gaining rights and fighting racism.

Ericsson said the joint projects and work will help the solidarity with Kurds and democratic forces in Kurdistan.

Media Rojava and Zülfükar Dersim were elected as co-chairs of the Malmö Democratic Kurdish Community Center.
